Delhi 10 Feb 2015:In 2013, when the Aam Aadmi Party came into existence, it saw many Bollywood stars coming out in support of Arvind Kejriwal, the face of AAP, and the party. Lending their voice to the then-fledgeling party, certain celebrities went vocal on social networking sites, and others participated in certain AAP-hued concerts.
As Arvind Kejriwal and his AAP celebrate their victory in the capital, we take a look at some of the star supporters of AAP, who hadn’t deserted the party, despite the ups and lows over the last one year.
Gul Panag
AAP’s Bullet Rani has been by the party ever since she spoke out in favour of it, sometime about a year back. Gul Panag was AAP’s Chandigarh candidate in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, too. This time around, the actor has been seen on the roads, riding her way to people’s – especially youngsters’ – hearts. Gul’s dimpled smile, in addition to her way of talking and presence on social media, and her appeal in general, have all helped AAP in the Delhi campaign and the subsequent win this year.

Vishal Dadlani
Musician Vishal Dadlani has been a firm supporter and quite the Bollywood voice of AAP over the last year-and-a-half. His tweets, music concerts and the AAP Delhi election anthem ‘Paanch Saal Kejriwal’ are all evidence of the same. Last year, when AAP was about to fight the Delhi elections, the music composer was seen in numerous concerts, singing with Kejriwal on the stage at times, and with other party who’s who at others. This election campaign too had Dadlani as a part of several jan sabhas, and his virtual presence – on Twitter – went quite a way in helping the Aam Aadmi Party clinch the Delhi victory.

Raghu Ram
Television host Raghu Ram, who is famous for his stints as the Roadies’ judge over several seasons, came out and joined AAP right after the formation of the party. While last year saw Raghu campaigning ferociously for AAP, attending a concert here and a rally there, this time around, he has mostly stuck to addressing small jan sabhas, with a message for youngsters up his sleeve. The TV guy was quite active on Twitter, too, lauding AAP, and trying and pointing out weaknesses of other contenders for the Delhi elections.

Ranvir Shorey
Actor Ranvir Shorey, who threw in his lot with AAP and Arvind Kejriwal after the formation of the party, has been quite suportive this time around, too. Shorey’s presence on social media, and the AAP-lauding tweets that the actor has been posting ever since the campaign this year picked up steam, is quite evident of his support for the party.
