The new phase of Russia-Ukraine war has started again. On Tuesday, the Russian military launched a massive attack on the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhia, using more than 100 drones and about 150 glide bombs. President Volodymyr Zelensky said that in the past two weeks, Russia has fired more than 3,500 drones, more than 2,500 glide bombs and about 200 missiles at different parts of Ukraine.

More than 20 buildings in Zaporizhia were damaged in the Russian attacks, which caught fire. One person died and 20 people were injured in the attack, including four children. One person also died in Mykolive area. Regional chief Ivan Fedorov said that 10 apartment buildings and 12 private houses were damaged in the attacks by multiple rocket launch systems. Ukrainian armed forces attacked the oil refinery located in the Saratov region of western Russia at night. Also, Russia captured several villages in Zaporizhia and Donetsk regions. In response, Ukraine’s top military commander Oleksandr Sirsky fired two senior officers.
President Zelensky appealed to European leaders to provide air defense systems and said that the war would not end without inflicting heavy economic losses on Russia. “Now is the time for Europe to strengthen its multi-layered security air defense system,” he said. While Trump said that in order to end the war, Zelensky would have to compromise. The Trump administration approved an arms aid package for Ukraine, including two shipments of $500 million. This aid will be provided from US reserves using funds received from NATO countries under the new financial system.
