A major crisis is approaching Punjab and Himachal tonight! People are urged to be cautious.

A major crisis appears to be looming over India, including Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. The ash from the recent volcanic eruption in Ethiopia will impact air quality in India, prompting calls for caution.

According to reports, the Hayli Gubbi volcano in Ethiopia erupted suddenly on November 23, 2025, after nearly 12,000 years of inactivity, releasing a massive plume of ash and sulfur dioxide. This eruption has impacted air travel and air quality in several nearby countries, including Yemen, Oman, and parts of India. It is being said that it will directly impact Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Haryana. Last night, a cloud of ash (toxic air) was seen rising in Delhi, leading to the cancellation of several flights. The

Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued a warning to airlines, urging them to avoid ash-bearing areas and high altitudes, alter routes, and inspect engines. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the ash cloud has spread to Rajasthan, Haryana, and Delhi, and that it could affect Punjab and Himachal Pradesh tonight. However, scientists say the plume is high enough to have minimal impact on public life. It is also being said that the volcanic ash will leave India by nightfall and then move toward China.
