There is news of a young woman from Punjab committing suicide in Maldives. According to the information, a woman named Gurpreet Kaur (24) had gone to Maldives on a permit about six months ago. She committed suicide there. The body of the deceased has been brought to India and the case is being investigated.
The family of the deceased said that Gurpreet was married to a youth from Jira in Ferozepur last year. The family said that their daughter had gone to Maldives on a work permit six months ago while her husband was here. The family has alleged that Gurpreet’s husband forced her to commit suicide. The police is getting the post-mortem of the deceased done and further action will be taken after that. The family has demanded that they should be given justice as soon as possible.
