Once again a big announcement has been made by the farmers. According to the information, the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) protesting at the Shambhu-Khanuri border has announced to stop the railway track on December 5 in Punjab. Giving information in this regard, Sarwan Singh Pandher said that trains will be stopped at 26 places from 1 pm to 3 pm in 19 districts of Punjab. He clarified that the roads will not be closed during this time, so that there is minimum inconvenience to the common people. The impact of this rail stop campaign is likely to affect rail traffic in several districts including Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala and Bathinda.

Pandher said that the Center and the Punjab government are not taking any concrete steps on the major demands of farmers such as legal guarantee of MSP, withdrawal of Electricity Reform Bill-2025, and reinstatement of old meters by removing prepaid meters. He says that the farmers are being forced to take the path of protest. He warned that if the government does not come up with a solution soon, then the movement can be widened.
