Chandigarh 19 Jan 2015 : Shiromani Akali Dal Badal is all set to make a movie on the life of Punjab’s 87-year-old chief minister, Parkash Singh Badal.
Punjab’s Deputy CM and SAD Badal president, Sukhbir Singh Badal, said, “We are planning to make a movie on Akali Dal patron and CM Parkash Singh Badal and on the history of the party. Now we are gathering material to make the movie. The shooting for the movie will start from the Gidderbaha constituency. We are yet to finalise details such as who would be the producer, director and the cast for the film.” This is touted to be the first such film to be made on the life of a political personality from Punjab.
Taking a dig at the proposed film, Punjab Congress spokesman Sukhpal Singh Khaira said, “Keeping in view Badal’s lifeless and empty political career utilised to promote self, family and spread corruption in Punjab, it is advised the said film be named “Badal: An Icon of Corruption” so people can see the truth for themselves.’’
