Senior Congress leader and Bholath MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira today strongly condemned the language used by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann towards Radha Soami Satsang Beas head Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon Ji. Sukhpal Singh Khaira said that Mann used derogatory and vulgar language to target and insult Radha Soami Satsang Beas head Baba Gurinder Singh Ji, simply because Baba Ji had met Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia.

Khaira said it was “very unfortunate and condemnable” that a sitting Chief Minister dragged a respected spiritual leader into political mud simply because of a social meeting. He said that spiritual and religious leaders often meet with people from different walks of life, and politicizing such meetings reflects poorly on the dignity of the Chief Minister’s office. Referring to the case against Majithia, Khaira pointed out that the Punjab government and its Vigilance Bureau have so far failed to present concrete and cogent evidence in the public domain to prove the serious allegations. He further stated that the Honorable Supreme Court has granted bail in the case, which, he said, raises serious questions about the politically charged manner in which the case has been presented.
Khaira said that the views expressed by Baba Gurinder Singh Ji regarding the alleged false case against Bikram Majithia are now resonating across Punjab, and there is a growing public perception that the Aam Aadmi Party government is misusing the state police machinery to implicate its political opponents in fabricated and politically motivated cases. He said such sentiments reflect the growing public distrust of the functioning of law enforcement agencies under the current government.
Khaira said, “Targeting Baba Gurinder Singh Ji and questioning his integrity or intentions through cheap comments is an attack on the sentiments of millions of followers who hold him in high regard. Political differences cannot justify disrespecting spiritual figures.” Demanding accountability, Khaira urged Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to rise above party politics and uphold the dignity of his constitutional position.
Khaira said, “I demand that Bhagwant Mann immediately publicly apologize to Baba Gurinder Singh Ji and the Radha Swami Sangat for his irresponsible and derogatory remarks.” Punjab needs responsible governance focused on law, order, and development, not personal attacks and political drama.
