The mortal remains of Indian Army soldier Jobanjeet Singh, who was martyred in a tragic road accident while on duty in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district, arrived at his ancestral home in Gobind Valley, in his home district of Ropar, a short while ago today. As soon as the martyr’s body arrived home, a wave of mourning spread throughout the area. Today, the martyr merged with the five elements.

It is noteworthy that Martyr Jobanjeet Singh was among the soldiers killed in the Doda incident and belonged to the Ropar district. His father, Balveer Singh, himself served in the Indian Army. On the occasion of his son’s martyrdom, he once again donned his military uniform, fulfilling both the duty and pride of being a military father.
The atmosphere at the martyr’s home was deeply emotional. Tears welled up in the eyes, but pride in their sons’ martyrdom was also evident in their hearts. The entire atmosphere echoed with chants of “Jobanjeet Singh Amar Rahe!” The martyr’s funeral was conducted with full state honors at around 3 p.m.
On this occasion, the martyr’s father, Balveer Singh, emotionally recounted that Jobanjeet was his only son and all preparations for his wedding had been completed. He said that the grief was initially unbearable, but his son’s service to Mother India and his martyrdom gave him courage. He paid tribute to all the brave soldiers who died for the country, including those who died in the 1971 war.
