A major road accident occurred this morning near Niwari village in the Baghchini police station area of Morena, Madhya Pradesh, where a brave school bus driver risked his life to save 22 children. According to reports, Sarnam Sikarwar was taking the children to school in the morning when an uncontrolled and speeding canter started coming towards his bus. Sensing the danger, the 60-year-old driver showed great agility and immediately pulled the bus to the side of the road to save it. Due to this courageous decision, a direct collision with the canter was averted, but the driver suffered such serious chest injuries that he died on the spot.

In this horrific collision, the lives of about 22 children travelling in the bus were narrowly saved. During the accident, 6 children received minor injuries, who were immediately taken to the district hospital and after first aid, were safely sent to their homes. The deceased Sarnam Sikarwar had been driving a school van for the last 15 years and the special thing is that at that time, along with his three grandchildren, his younger brother’s children and other students of the village were also present in the bus. It is an emotional moment for the family and villagers that an elderly driver performed the responsibility of the safety of the children till his last breath.
Upon receiving information about the incident, police arrived at the scene and began investigating the matter. Eyewitnesses say that if Sarnam hadn’t pulled the bus aside in time, the accident could have been much more devastating. This accident, which occurred near the Ummedgarh Vansi culvert, has shocked the people of the area, where everyone is discussing the driver’s bravery and sacrifice. Currently, police have registered a case against the canter driver and have initiated further legal action.
