Odisha plane crash: 9-seater chartered plane crashes after takeoff from Rourkela, makes emergency landing in field

A major plane crash was narrowly avoided in Rourkela, Odisha, on Saturday afternoon. A nine-seater chartered India One Air plane crashed into a field near Jalda (Lathikata area), just 10-15 kilometers after takeoff. Fortunately, no one was killed in the accident.

Technical fault caused

The plane had taken off from Rourkela for Bhubaneswar. According to people on the scene, the pilot attempted an emergency landing after detecting a technical fault mid-air, but the plane rapidly descended and crashed into a field. There were a total of six people on board, including four passengers and two crew members.

Rescue operation and condition of the injured

Upon receiving information about the accident, three fire brigade teams and local authorities arrived at the scene. All six people on board the plane were injured and were immediately evacuated and admitted to a nearby hospital. According to doctors, all the injured are currently in stable condition. The Civil Aviation Department has ordered an investigation into the exact cause of the accident.
