Bangladesh: Attacks on Hindus continue in Bangladesh, one more Hindu was killed, after being beaten by the mob, he was set on fire.

The series of increasing attacks on the Hindu community in Bangladesh does not seem to be stopping. Another Hindu citizen, Khokon Das, a victim of Islamic mob violence, died on Saturday. Khokon Das was attacked by a mob a few days ago and after being brutally beaten, he was set on fire. Khokon, who suffered severe burns, was being treated at a major hospital in Dhaka, where he died on Saturday morning.

No help from Bangladesh government

A relative of Khokon Das told NDTV that he died at 8:45 am. The body has been sent for post-mortem, but has not yet been handed over to the family. Relatives alleged that no assistance has been received from the Bangladesh government so far. He also said that the three accused involved in the attack are still absconding. Khokon Das was the only earning member of his family. He is survived by his wife and three sons.

Business of medicine and mobile banking in the village

Khokon Das ran a drug store and mobile banking business in his village, about 150 kilometers from Dhaka. It was reported that he was attacked while returning home after closing the shop on Wednesday. The assailants first assaulted them and then poured petrol on them and set them on fire. Khokon somehow jumped into a nearby pond to escape the fire, but by then he was severely burned. There were many deep wounds on his body.

Death during treatment

The locals first took him to the nearest hospital, from where the doctors, seeing his condition as serious, referred him to a big hospital in Dhaka. Despite several days of treatment, he died on Friday. In the past 15 days, four people from the Hindu community have been targeted for murder in Bangladesh. Deepu Chandra Das was murdered on 18 December, while Amrit Mandal was mob lynched on 24 December. A few days ago, Bajendra Biswas was shot dead. Now the death of Khokon Das has raised serious questions about the security of the minority community.
