Fear gripped residents of Sector 6, Panchkula, after a leopard strayed into a house today. As the word spread, residents living in the vicinity rushed indoors and alerted the authorities.

Police personnel and Forest Department officials rushed to the site and are currently trying to capture the animal. Officials cordoned off the area and began coordinated efforts to track and safely capture the animal, while urging residents to remain indoors and avoid venturing out unnecessarily.
The incident came close on the heels of a similar wildlife encounter reported a day earlier from Dabla village in the Shilyon area of Morni. In that case, a family was alerted to the leopard’s presence during the night after their dog began barking. The commotion prompted the residents to raise an alarm, following which the animal reportedly retreated into the adjoining forest without causing any harm.
