Guru Gobind Singh will remain a symbol of courage, compassion and sacrifice: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said Guru Gobind Singh is a symbol of courage, compassion and sacrifice and his life and teachings inspire everyone to stand up for truth, justice and righteousness and protect human dignity. Modi said the vision of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru, has consistently guided generations towards service and selfless duty. “On the occasion of the holy Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, we pay our respectful homage to him. He is a symbol of courage, compassion and sacrifice,” Modi wrote on the social media platform ‘X’.

Their life and teachings inspire us to stand up for truth, justice, righteousness and protect human dignity.” The Prime Minister also shared some photographs from his visit to Takht Sri Harimandir Patna Sahib earlier this year, where he had darshan of the sacred ‘Joda Sahib’ (a pair of shoes) belonging to Guru Gobind Singh and Mata Sahib Kaur. Modi had announced on January 9, 2022, that December 26 will be celebrated as ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ to commemorate the martyrdom of Sahibzade Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh, sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh.
To commemorate Veer Bal Diwas, the government is organizing events across the country aimed at educating citizens about the extraordinary courage and supreme sacrifice of the Sahibzadas. Prime Minister Modi on Friday attended an event organised to mark Veer Bal Diwas, where he said the supreme sacrifice of the Sahibzadas (sons) of the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, is the highest expression of India’s indomitable courage, valour and bravery against the brutal Mughal rule.
