A 16-year-old boy, nephew of former MLA and BJP leader Sheetal Angural, was stabbed to death late on Friday evening in Jalandhar.

The victim, identified as Vikas, was allegedly attacked by three youths with a sharp-edged weapon following an argument in Shivaji Nagar of the Basti Danishmandan area. He was stabbed in the chest and left bleeding on the road as the assailants fled.
Despite his injuries, Vikas managed to reach a nearby house and asked a woman for water. Before she could return, he collapsed. She alerted local residents, who informed the police. Angural reached the spot and rushed the teenager to a private hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The victim’s family was reportedly in Jammu at the time of the incident. They returned on Saturday morning, after which a post-mortem examination was conducted and the last rites performed.
Minutes after the attack, the main accused, Ravi Kumar, alias Kalu, of Dhariwal Kadian village, allegedly returned to the spot to look for two mobile phones he had dropped while fleeing. When he learnt that residents had picked the phones for handing over to the police, he allegedly threatened them.
