A bus skidded down the road and overturned in Andhra Pradesh’s Alluri Sitaram Raju district on Friday, killing at least nine people and injuring 22 others. The police gave this information. He said that 37 people, including the driver and a cleaner, were on board the bus, which was going from Chittoor to the neighboring state of Telangana. Six of them are safe. Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Bardar said that the accident took place around 4:30 am on the Chintoor-Maredumilli Ghat road near a Durga temple.

Bardar said, “At least nine people died and 22 others were injured due to the bus falling from the Ghat Road road. The bus did not fall completely into the valley. The bus overturned… and got stuck there.” He said that the condition of four of the injured is serious. According to the official, possibly due to dense fog, the bus driver could not see the turn at the site of the accident, which falls under Mothugudem police station area. Bardar said that the bus passengers were going from Chittoor to Sri Ram temple in Bhadrachalam in Telangana.
