After the blast that happened near the Red Fort in the capital Delhi, the security agencies have become fully alert. The investigation so far has revealed that the blast plan was not only limited to Delhi, but Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, was also being tried to be targeted.
The Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has made an important disclosure that 3 suspects have been arrested by the Gujarat ATS . ATS said that these suspects were being monitored for the last one year. Three suspects were arrested in a joint operation near Adalaj toll plaza near Ahmedabad on November 9. The arrested suspects are:-
– Doctor Ahmed Mohiuddin Syed of Hyderabad
– Mohammad Suhail Salim Khan of Lakhimpur Khiri (UP)
– Azad Sulaiman Sheikh of Shamli (UP)
At the time of arrest, two Glock pistols, one Beretta pistol, 30 live cartridges and four liters of castor oil, which could be used to make biological weapons like ricin, were recovered from their possession.
Reki and targeting plan
In questioning, Mohammad Suhail said that the group had rekied congested areas in Lucknow, Delhi and Ahmedabad. Religious places, cultural centers and tourist spots were especially targeted in Lucknow. Suhail also revealed that this conspiracy was hatched at the behest of a major terrorist organization and included a plan to supply arms from Pakistan.
Biological attack and mastermind
dr. Ahmed Syed, who returned to Hyderabad after pursuing medical studies in China, was reportedly the mastermind behind the module. He was preparing to use biological poisons like ricin as weapons. The other two suspects ordered weapons from Hanumangarh in Rajasthan and supplied them to Syed. ATS says that these people were connected with foreign contacts and were influenced by radical ideology.
UP ATS investigation and attempt to break the network
UP ATS has launched a comprehensive investigation to identify the associates of Mohammad Suhail. A list of Lucknow and other possible cities is being prepared. It is also being ascertained which international terrorist network the suspect was associated with. On the instructions of UP DGP, vigilance has been increased on all the borders of the state and police and intelligence agencies are keeping vigil everywhere.
Questioning Dr. Shaheen and his brother
In addition, Dr. Shaheen Shahid and his brother Dr. Arrested from Faridabad. Parvez Shahid Ansari is also being interrogated. Initial investigation revealed that these two may also be connected to this network. UP ATS is engaged in tracing the entire chain.
Which organization’s hand?
ATS sources said that foreign numbers and encrypted messages were found in the phones and digital devices of the suspects. These messages may be related to ISKP (Islamic State Khorasan Province) or terrorist elements based in Pakistan. The cyber forensic investigation is still ongoing.
