Punjabi film industry has received a deep shock today. Famous comedian and actor Jaswinder Bhalla is no more. 65-year-old Jaswinder Bhalla passed away early today at Fortis Hospital in Mohali. He had been unwell for some time and was hospitalized.

Jaswinder Bhalla’s last journey will be taken out on August 23 at 12 noon from Mohali’s Forced Crematorium, where his mortal remains will be dedicated to Agni for cremation.
Film career
He started his professional career as a comedian in 1988 with Chhankata 88 and became an actor with the film Dulla Bhatti. Along with this, he won the hearts of the audience with his excellent acting and comic style in many popular films like ‘Gaddi Chalti Hai Chhalanga Maar Ke’, ‘Carry on Jatta’, ‘Jind Jaan’, and ‘Band Baaja’ Sardaar Ji. His comic timing and dialogue delivery made him an unforgettable face of Punjabi cinema.
Belonged to a simple family Jaswinder Bhalla
Born on May 4, 1960 in Ludhiana, Punjab, Jaswinder Bhalla belonged to a simple family. His father Master Bahadur Singh Bhalla was a teacher in a primary school in Barmalipur village near Ludhiana. An atmosphere of education and discipline has been a part of Bhalla’s life since childhood. He completed his schooling from Senior Secondary School, Doraha. After this, he moved towards higher education and received his B.Sc from Punjab Agricultural University. and M.Sc. What degrees did you get? His seriousness towards education did not end here. He received his Ph.D. He went to Chaudhary Charan Singh Post Graduate College, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh for his studies and received his doctorate from there.

Jaswinder Bhalla’s family life was as simple and creative as his personality. His wife Paramdeep Bhalla is a fine arts teacher by profession and has a keen interest in the field of art. His son Pukhraj Bhalla has entered the world of entertainment just like his father. Pukhraj has done B.Tech in Audio-Visual Production from Punjabi University, Patiala. He has been associated with stage and screen since childhood — he started appearing in ‘Chankarta’ cassettes from the year 2002 and later played strong roles in several Punjabi films. Jaswinder Bhalla’s daughter Ashpreet Kaur got married in Norway. Even though she no longer lived in India, her emotional attachment to her father remained constant.
Jaswinder Bhalla ruled millions of hearts with his comic acting. He gave Punjabi cinema new heights and took comedy to a different level. His death has sent a wave of grief across the entire Punjabi film industry. His easy comic timing and satirical style based on social issues always made the audience laugh and make them think. An era has come to an end with his death.
