Violence on Thailand-Cambodia border, Indian embassy issues travel warning

The Indian Embassy in Thailand on Friday issued an advisory for Indian citizens living here, urging them to avoid traveling to seven provinces amid ongoing violence on the Thailand-Cambodia border. At least 11 people have died and many others have been injured in clashes that began on Thursday on the border between Thailand and Cambodia.

The government’s ‘Thai Public Broadcasting Service’ gave this information. The Indian Embassy said in a post on ‘X’, “In view of the situation near the Thailand-Cambodia border, all Indian travelers coming to Thailand are advised to get the latest information from official sources in Thailand, including the ‘TAT Newsroom’.” It quoted a post from the Tourism Authority of Thailand saying that it is advisable not to travel to the places mentioned. The Tourism Authority said that it is advisable not to travel to several destinations in Ubon Ratchathani, Surin, Sisaket, Buriram, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi and Trat provinces.
