19 dead, 160 injured in Bangladesh aircraft crash

A major air accident occurred in the Diabari area of the Uttara region of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, at around 1:30 pm (1:00 pm Indian time) on Monday. An F-7 trainer aircraft of the Bangladesh Air Force suddenly crashed into the school building located at the North Campus of Milestone College due to a technical fault a few minutes after take off. At least 19 people have died in this terrible accident and more than 160 people are said to be injured. The injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals, where the condition of some is said to be critical.



The school became the center of the accident, the students ran amok

At the time when the plane fell on the school building, dozens of students were studying there. In the video that is going viral on social media, it can be clearly seen that students and teachers are running here and there to save their lives. In some videos, plumes of black smoke are seen rising from the college premises. According to eyewitnesses, first a loud noise was heard from the sky and then the plane fell rapidly. After the accident, there was shouting and chaos in the area.

The accident happened a few minutes after the flight

According to local media reports, the F-7 trainer aircraft took off at 1:06 pm and crashed just 24 minutes later at 1:30 pm. This information was given by a senior official of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. However, there is no official confirmation about the cause of the plane crash. As soon as the accident was reported, eight units of Bangladesh Army and Fire Service and Civil Defense reached the spot. Relief and rescue operations were started rapidly. According to an official, they received the information at 1:18 pm after which three units of the fire brigade reached the spot and two other units were kept on standby.
