Unidentified gunmen opened fire on a passenger bus in Pakistan’s restive Balochistan province on Wednesday, killing three people and injuring seven others. A senior official gave this information. Balochistan government spokesman Shahid Rind said that the vehicle was traveling from Karachi to provincial capital Quetta when it was attacked in Kalat area. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.

Rind said, “Three passengers died and seven others were injured in this tragic incident.” He said that the injured have been admitted to the district headquarters hospital in Kalat. According to the spokesperson, security agencies, district administration and rescue teams have immediately reached the spot to deal with the situation. He said, “Security forces have cordoned off the area and the search operation is on.” Security forces are chasing the attackers.
