US President Donald Trump has accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of adopting a double standard. Trump said that Putin talks about peace and friendship on the phone during the day but drops bombs on Ukraine at night. Trump has expressed displeasure at this attitude and has announced that Ukraine will be given Patriot air defense missiles by the United States. Donald Trump promised during the 2024 election campaign that he would end the ongoing war in Ukraine. But so far their efforts have not been successful. Trump and Putin had a long phone conversation recently. Despite this, Russia has intensified its attacks on Ukraine.

Trump said, “I thought that Putin does what he says. But now it is clear that he talks with love during the day and fires missiles at night. This is not acceptable to us.” Trump clarified that the US will send Patriot air defense missiles to Ukraine. But this time America will not pay any extra for it. Trump said the European Union would pay for it. “From our side it will be just business”.
Trump again surrounded his NATO allies and said that Europe should take responsibility for its own security. He said that now Europe should spend more on weapons and not burden America. It is worth noting that since February 2025, the war between Russia and Ukraine has flared up again. The US has so far supplied large-scale weapons to Ukraine, but domestic politics have been continuously debating it. Many experts say that this is increasing the pressure on America’s weapons stockpile. Trump’s peace efforts have also failed so far. In this way, he has openly expressed his anger about Putin’s ‘friendship in the day, war in the night’ attitude.
