Is American President Donald Trump in a hurry to declare a ceasefire in any war? Trump recently posted on his social media platform and announced that Iran and Israel have reached an agreement on a phased ceasefire, but shortly after Trump’s announcement, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi retaliated and rejected his claim.
Iran said – ‘No agreement, only a matter of stopping the attack’
Araghchi posted on social media immediately after the announcement by the US President that there is currently no agreement on any ceasefire or the end of military operations.
Araghchi further said that if the Israeli regime stops its illegal aggression against the Iranian people before 4 am Tehran time, we have no intention of continuing our response after that. This statement directly contradicts Trump’s claim that the consensus has been reached. Iran is making it clear that this is not an agreement but a condition that if Israel stops attacking Iran will also stop.
According to Trump’s claim, Iran stopped the attack
The interesting thing is that Iran stopped its attack at 4 am local time, according to Trump’s claim. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in another ‘X’ post, “The military operation of our powerful armed forces continued until the last minute, 4 am, to punish Israel for its aggression… Along with all Iranians, I thank our brave armed forces who are ready to defend our beloved country until the last drop of their blood and who responded to any attack of the enemy until the last minute.”
This entire development makes it clear that the tension in the Middle East is still there and the peace process is not as straightforward as Trump was trying to show in his social media posts. Iran is sticking to its terms and the situation will remain critical until Israel stops its attacks.
