Due to the efforts of Punjab Education Minister and MLA from Sri Anandpur Sahib Harjot Singh Bains, the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has issued a notification for acquisition of land for the project of four-laning of Sri Kiratpur Sahib Nangal Highway.
Welcoming the move, Harjot Singh Bains congratulated the locals and passersby as this road serves as a vital link between Punjab-Himachal Pradesh and especially connects holy places like Sri Anandpur Sahib and Mata Naina Devi. For four-laning of Sri Kiratpur Sahib-Nangal highway, land from 21 villages of Nangal and 34 villages of Sri Anandpur Sahib near the highway would be acquired for which the concerned SDMs have been empowered to implement it.
Bains thanked the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for expediting the four-lane project, which will not only enhance road safety but also boost the economic development of the region by improving connectivity and smooth traffic movement. Bains has been monitoring the four-lane project and holding weekly review meetings to expedite its implementation. The timely completion of the project reflects his commitment to transform the infrastructure of the region.
