Gas leak incident happened in IOL Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Limited factory situated at Fategarh Chhanna village near Barnala left one IOL worker died and four fell unconscious after hydrogen sulphide gas leaked from number three unit of the factory this morning.
All workers were taken to a private hospital at Barnala where one of them died during treatment.
Police authorities and senior officials of the IOL factory reched the spot after receving information.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Barnala, Satvir Singh, said Anmol Chimpa, a resident of Phulka village (Haryana), had died in the mishap, while three workers of the factory, namely Yugam Khanna, a resident of Hisar; Vikas Sharma, a resident of Maujgarh Khudian in Fazilka district, and Lovepreet Singh, a resident of Fatehgarh Chhanna (Barnala), were under treatment at a private hospital in Barnala. He said the condition of all three patients was said to be stable and no one had been referred to any higher health institution.
