Gippy Grewal shared his views over ongoing controversy over his movie Akaal. He has requested people and all Intellectual people to go and watch his movie Akaal and then let him know what is wrong in his movie so that he can correct those mistakes. He said many Nihang Sikhs whi have watched Akaal movie and they are really happy with this movie and he said he also requesting other intellectual peoples also to come and watch.
He also said this movie will open doors for Punjabi movie industry in coming days. He said if there was any problems in this movie why there was no backlash in its early days when teaser and even trailer were launched and why not when songs were also launched. Haven’t they seen dress code and characters earlier if they have told us earlier people who are creating controversy we have made the changes according to them.
Gippy Grewal said he hopes that ‘Akaal’, like ‘Baahubali’, ‘Pushpa’, and ‘KGF’, will launch a movement in which Punjabi cinema ultimately transcends state borders and establishes its own Pan-India identity.
“Our industry should grow. It’s not about one film—it’s about what’s happening across the entire industry. If one big film does well—like Dharma has come on board today—then tomorrow, 10-20 more good films could be made in Punjab. It won’t stop at just one. They’ll say, ‘We can do this too,’ and other big producers will also step in. And we want that. We want them to come. When a professional, big production house enters your industry, they bring their entire team and put in real effort. So we want that. I think this is the right time. And when you do good work, it always finds value,” he added.
