Heavy Non Stop Rain and Snowfall in Himachal, Roads Shut, power cut landslide in Kullu

Heavy rain and snowfall continues in Lahul-Spiti even after three days, over three feet of snow has accumulated. Across many parts of Himachal Pradesh snowfall coupled with rain and landslide including tribal district of Lahul, Spiti, Chambal and Mandi has put life to standstill. There is no electricity in many areas from last 3 days.

In Kullu due to heavy rainfall several vehicles reportedly washed away in the Bhoothnath nala area and vehicles buried under debris in Gandhinagar. Orange alert has been issued for coming days from meteorological department.

Considering the continuous heavy snowfall on Thursday, the district administration has issued a notification ordering the closure of educational institutions in Lahaul-Spiti on Friday.

Lahul Valley has witnessed such heavy snowfall after a long time, it forced people to remain indoors. Due to heavy rain and landslide Chandigarh – Manali National Highway is blocked. One bus reportedly involved in an accident. Government has employed machines to clear the debris which blocking the highway.
