A one day educational seminar was organized on “Sustainable Mobile Usage” by Green ThinkerZ Society in the Shivalik Public School, Mohali on dated 2September 2014. The main motive of this seminar was to create an awareness among the school students regarding mobile radiations and their harmful effects. Er. Harleen Kaur (Member, Green ThinkerZ Society) was the resource person for the above mentioned seminar. She not only explained the hazardous effects caused due to irrational and excessive use of mobile phones but she also suggested the precautionary measures to minimize the effects of electromagnetic radiations emitted by mobile phones.
The phenomena of gadget addiction was critically elaborated by the resource person. The whole awareness program was backed by the research conducted by some senior scientists and research scholars from the Green ThinkerZ Society. The Seminar was divided into two sessions, first session was held on 20 August 2014, Er. Tanvir Singh (President, Green ThinkerZ Society) was the resource person in which he addressed the students from class V to VIII (500 students) whereas in second session, students from class IX to XII (400 Students) participated in the seminar and got benefitted by the vital information received through this event.
The society is primarily promoting the environmental sustainability and working in the various dimensions of the same.
The school administration and staff members of Shivalik Public School, Mohali made a very important contribution in making this seminar successful.
Mr. Devinder Singh Bedi, Director, Shivalik Public School, Mohali appreciated the work done by Green ThinkerZ Society in the field of environmental sustainability and he advocated to organize such seminars in all the schools of region to develop digitally aware citizens.
