Punjab Youth Congress (PYC) has sought a ban on the picture, saying it “glorifies the assassins” of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
“Kaum De Heere” is to be released across India on the 22nd August .Recently PYC president Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary wrote a letter to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which states that it was sad that the movie is allowed in other states while it must be banned. He warned that if the permission for the film’s screening is not withdrawn, PYC activists will stage protests across the state and prevent its release and screening. “The government shall be responsible for any law and order issue that may crop up,” he said.
Like that Lakshmi Kanta Chawla, who has been a Health minister of Punjab, wrote to his party senior and Indian Home Minister Rajanth Singh, saying ban on Kaum De Heere was important for maintaining peace and communal harmony in Punjab.
But Team memebers of film Kaum de Heere said that “It is a completely balanced film wherein no religion or sect has been belittled. Some people are unnecessarily trying to create a controversy from the issue without watching movie.
