Review:
” This movie defames the militant movement and shows Khalistani characters as a cruel entities. This film should not be confused of having relation to the 1984 trauma of the Sikhs or the Sikh freedom movement.”
Diljit Dosanjh’s movie “Punjab 1984” released today. It was an Illusion about the movie that it is based on the Era of Militant Movement of Punjab 1984. But after watching the movie, everything got cleared. Movie seems to influenced by Anti-Sikh propaganda.
This is true that story of the movie is related to Era of Militant Movement of Punjab, but it Looks like imagined story not true story. Doesn’t matter even if they names of the characters are not fictional but the story looks totally Imagined.
In the starting scenes of the movie, Army kills a character of the movie while he was to Darbar Sahib(Amritsar) on Guru Arjun Dev Ji’s martyrdom anniversary. Further in the movie, The Torture of the Police is shown on the people but the Sikh movement is also shown as cruel movement as it is preached by Indian Media and Government.
The Militant Leaders in the movie are shown as misguided people who kills Hindus and who Bomb buses to Kill People for their struggle of ‘Khalistan’.
At the end of the movie the militant leader and his elderly adviser are shown as traitors who were ultimately killed by Diljit Dosanjh in the movie.
Kirron Kher’s role in the movie was excellent. Her role as a ‘Mother of a lost Son’ was just awesome.
But in the movie, no issue is at the focus actually. This is an imaginary story that has been named as “Punjab 1984” just to sell it.
This movie defames the militant movement and shows Khalistani characters as a cruel entities. This film should not be confused of having relation to the 1984 trauma of the Sikhs or the Sikh freedom movement.
In the end, we must say that these types of movies with distorted facts should not be made by using name ‘1984’ to gain publicity. The Actors, Directors, Story writers and Producers must have to talk with wise Sikh Scholars. Sikh Militant Movement is the story of past few decades. The people who were part of this are still alive. Movie makers should have to talk to them.
We request all the Directors, Actors and Writers to read some books with true facts, not those which are influenced by Government, so that the future and young generation can know the reality of that Era. Because Half or Wrong knowledge is more Dangerous than having No Knowledge.
