Jatehdars to review norms regarding film of Sikh history

December 8, 2014  | Amritsar, Punjab: Five Sikh Jatehdars are expected to review the norms related to films or movies to be made on Sikh history. Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh’s personal assistant Jaswinderpal Singh confirmed that the issue is likely to be deliberated upon by in next meeting of five Sikh Jatehdars. After the ‘success’ of 3D cartoon/ animation movie ‘Chaar Sahibzaade’ a number of movies are likely to be made in future.


3D Chaar Sahibzaade Becomes Highest Rated Film in cinema History

Jaswinderpal Singh said that though it was already decided that Sikh Guru Sahibs can not be depicted in any form the norms need to be discussed as a number of movies are expected to be made on Sikh history.

As per informative Giani Gurbachan Singh has showered praise for Harry Baweja, director of Chaar Sahibzaade and asked him to make more movies on Sikh history.

There are concerns that the trend of animation movies on Sikh History would lead to depiction of Sikh Guru Sahibs, which is strictly prohibited in Sikh traditions.
