Amritsar ,January 12, 2015: The Dal Khalsa has stated that the decision of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) refusing to clear the film Messenger of God is a right and bold step and we welcome it hoping that revising panel too would take the similar step.
Party activists Dr Manjinder Singh and Ranbir Singh said majority of the board’s examining committee members that have taken exception to the protagonist, Ram Rahim Singh, depicting himself as god has vindicated the Sikh viewpoint. They said the central government and Punjab government should not take the objections of Sikhs and other peace-loving people lightly. They sought complete ban on the film.
They said the person who is mired in serious controversies, who is facing cases under heinous crime like rape, murder and forced castration and the one who has committed sacrilege against Sikh religion, should not be allowed to advertise his “personality and thoughts” as it would leave negative and dangerous effects on the society. “The intention behind the film was to influence the judiciary and lure the people”.
They urged the revising panel not to give clearance to the MSG as wrongful actions of this heretical cult head has offended the sentiments of millions of people belonging to all religion.
