After the love he got for the movie ‘Hawayein’ from the Sikhs, Now he is back with another movie on that Period of 1984. Yes we are talking about Amitoj Maan. Amitoj Maan is making his new Punjabi Movie “Gadaar” which will be released near to Diwali this year.
Many movies related to that Era are releasing this year following the success of “Sadda Haq” last year which was a Smash Hit. Three films have been already made on the issue so far this year. The Central Board for Film Certification in India has reportedly refused to issue a certificate to, “Kaum De Heere”. The other movies, “47 to 84″ and “Punjab 1984”, were released already. These movies is did good business. News are coming now that “Kaum de Heere” movie will be going to release in August this year, which was banned by the Censor board.
Some more films on the same issue are also set be released this year. These include Amitoj Maan’s “Gaddaar”, “Kaun Kare Insaaf”, “Dilli 1984″, “Lather Life” and “Blood Street”.
Baljit Singh is planning to release his film “Kaun Kare Insaaf” in October-end. He said his film would sound a caution to the system that anarchy would prevail if the justice system collapsed. Since justice has not been delivered to the 1984 massacre victims, what the system expects them to do? “Through this project we want to create a dialogue to address the issue,” he added.
Amitoj Mann’s “Gaddaar” would be released around Diwali. This movie is not similar to “Hawayien”. He said some 1984 incidents were depicted in the film, but it was not entirely based on that issue.
