Once again Sikh Sentiments on Silver Screen, another movie on 1984 Sikh Massacre

A movie titled JAANE KYUN (Unanswered questions) is all set to release in October featuring Soha Ali Khan and Vir Das. This is a political thriller movie helmed by Shivaji Lotan Patil. The shooting will end up till 20 August. The story is about the drastic conditions faced by a Sikh family in Delhi and how they managed to survive.
It’s an ordeal of a wife, who with all her strength, tries to save her family from the butchers roaming around to kill each and every Sikh. This is the story of a family who are escaping the burning Delhi to reach Meerut. There was another film KAYAN TARAN directed by Sashi Kumar, which came immediately after Indira was assassinated by her Sikh bodyguards to revenge the attack on the holy shrine of Sikh, Harmandar Sahib.

Soha Ali Khan

The story was adapted from a short Malayalam story, WHEN BIG TREES FALL, written by NS Madhavan (IAS Officer), Sashi Kumar had Angad Bedi playing Preet and Seema Miswaas Sister Agatha. To mention Soha Ali Khan is the daughter of Nawaab Pataudi , who could but never helped Sikhs during the 1984 massacre.
Let’s hope that this time it will be based upon true incidents and not like the previous ones which instead of healing the 30 years old wounds, had only worsen them by showing the biased stories.
