Review on 3D animation movie CHAAR SAHIBZADE: a tale of courage and valour

These day there is a lot of emphasis on the discussion of the movie made the sacrifice of Four Sahibzaade’s (sons) of guru Gobind Singh ji. It’s obvious, because it depicts the golden moments of the Sikh history. Before this also, Sukhwinder Singh of Vismaad had contributed his movies in the field of animation besides having limited resources. His works in the field of Sikh animation movies attracted the attention of Sikhs worldwide. As an initiative it proved that Sikh history can be preached and shown successfully through the medium of animation. But, except him, no one considered the need to move on further in this field.

But as the time passed, Bollywood director Harry Baweja made a movie entitled “CHAAR SAHIBZAADE’s which is being successfully run in the cinemas. It is being proved as milestone in the Sikh animated movies. We went to PVR cinema at Jalandhar to watch this movie. A day before we booked 40 tickets. When movie was started hall was full and we could hear the roaring of Jaikaaras from every corner. The presentation, music and gallantry story touched each and every heart.

The film was picturized in a very elegant and beautiful way. Every scene was presented in very sincere way by keeping in the mind the Sikh perspective. While I was watching the movie, it seemed that whatever I have been listening since my childhood was happening just infront of my eyes. I was feeling proud at that moment, YES! I am the son of Guru Gobind Singh ji, I have brothers such as CHAAR SAHIBZAADE and no one in the world can be as blessed and enriched as I. I am proud to be a sikh. None, in this universe can be like my Father and my four brothers. The Portrayal of BibiBhaag Kaur ji in this movie inspire those who are still far away from Sikhi.

Review on 3D animation movie CHAAR SAHIBZADE

Today  we all are talking about our Babas(sahibzades). Ofcourse they are our ideals and we all wish to be like them. No one in the cinema hall was such who would not have shed his tears by holding his hearts.

I don’t wish to criticize, but there were some facts which seemed unknowingly distorted or left. Here Mata Gujar Kaur ji portrayed as weak, emotional and Nervous character. Instead we know from our Sikh history, that Mata ji was a brave warrior, ideal of courage and sacrifice, who encouraged ChotteSahibzade to move on path of Sikhism with proud and Courage.

the second thing I noticed and seemed major mistake of plot is that when GanguBahman stole money from Mata ji, goes out of the room and shouts that thief has stolen the money while Mata ji says that he must have a more need, But in reality, we know that Mataji said to Gangu that if you need money, then you can keep it, but don’t create any scene like this. So the actual reaction of Mata ji is not shown eaxactly instead Gangu directly goes to MorindaKotwali to complain though Mata ji did not react at his point.

I also felt that there was very rare use of Gur Fateh 2-3 times in the whole movie. The character of SuchaNand is shown as an advisor of Wazir Khan. But his name was introduced after a long time in his last scenes.

These points which I have put forward should not be considered as criticism instead this may help us in future projects. Still these mistakes are not major comparing to the positiveness of the movie. It is going to have a huge impact on our generations.
Where we watched the movie the hall was full and the people were still coming for next show. We are heartily thankful to the director of movie for giving us a tremendous movie on our history.

At the end, I want to request everyone to watch this movie along with their families. Those who already watched must encourage others to watch this stupendous movie so that the director like Harry Baweja could make more movies on our Sikh history.
