(CRPF) invokes Bollywood “Kick”

Commandant, 2nd battalion of CRPF, VVN Prasanna said: “Movies are one of the best means to know what is happening around the globe. The objective behind the move is to expose tribals to the other side of the world which is still inaccessible to them because of Maoist activities. However, it will also help them to come closer to the mainstream through entertainment,”.

Hindi movie with Indian nationalist inclement such as ‘Mary Kom’, ‘Chak de India’ and ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ will be among other movies to be shown in future, Prasanna added.

Chattisgarh and other adjoining states are under influence of Maoist/ Naxalite struggle which poses major challenge for the Indian state and the Corporates, as the state and the corporates are not able to exploit the rich mineral resources of these areas because of armed insurgency.

The newly formed Narendra Modi government has put the Naxal/ Maoist insurgency on it’s priority list. The government has reportedly drafted a new policy to tackle the Naxalist/ Maoist “problem”.
