Dharmender not happy with Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’s performance

Dharmender Deol acknowledges that he wasn’t happy with Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’s box-office performance and says hewill not go as a solo as a producer now. “We Deols are not good businessmen. We should’ve paid more heed to the YPD 2 script but we were in some kind of a hurry. But I will only produce those films which have my sons in the lead. I would love to remake my Pratigya and Dillagi with Bobby,” he informs.

He will be soon be seen in his first Punjabi film Double Di Trouble, an adapatation of Shakespeare’s Comedy Of Errors. When Mirror met him in his Juhu bungalow he said “I’ve wanted to do a film in a language other than Hindi since a long time”.

But will not be easy as he has two heavy-duty dances, one with Neha Dhupia and the other a bhangra. “Dancing has always been tough, I never go by what choreographers tell me. Mera rhythm kuchh alag hi hai. I tell them, ‘Don’t worry, I’ll do something special. Take close-ups. I’ll give you the expression you want in close-ups. If you feel the dance, you can always get the expression right,” he insists. He reveals that he had wanted to make a film on the Mirza-Sahiban love story with son Bobby but that didn’t happen. “The camera is my temple, without it, I am nothing. I get bored and tired, life comes to a standstill,” he says passionately.

Dharam who’s now planning to open a resort in nearby Lonavla says “My roots are in farming. I still don’t take much interest in business. Sunny handles everything.”
