Breaking News: Punjab Government Banned Controversial Movie “Nanak Shah Fakir”

Chandigarh 10/4/2017:- Punjab government has reportedly banned screening of controversial Nanak Shah Fakir Film in the state. Speaking to journalist Yadwinder Karfew of ABP Sanjha, Punjab minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa said that the decision was taken in view of sentiments of the Sikh community.

On being asked that about director’s freedom, he said that the sentiments of the Sikh community were of the utmost consideration for reaching the decision to ban the film.

He said that throughout history Sikh Gurus were not presented in any form and such an act was never endorsed by the Sikhs, SGPC and Akal Takht Sahib and the film one such attempt, therefore it was banned.
