Breaking News: Harinder Sikka withdraws controversial movie Nanak Shah Fakir

Chandigarh 21 April 2015: Makers of the controversial movie Nanak Shah Fakir have reportedly withdrawn their movie. Harinder Sikka, who arrogantly released his movie on April 17 ignoring all appeals and warnings to withdraw the movie, said that the the film was withdrawn for the time being after directions from Akal Takhat Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh.

The news in this regard was aired by PTC News channel which showed a bite of Harinder Sikka and Giani Gurbachan Singh.

It is notable that Harinder Sikka’s movie was banned by Punjab government and Chandigarh administration before it’s release. While the movie faced strong protests and opposition from the Sikh community, including diaspora sections, after it’s release.

Though Harinder Sikka maintains that his decision to withdraw the film came after directions from Giani Gurbachan Singh

The movie was dropped by various Cinemas in UK after strong opposition from the UK Sikh community. It is pertinent to note that UK was the only country in Europe where the movie was being screened and there were no screenings of the controversial film in rest of the Europe.

The movie was dropped by it’s distributer in Canada. The makers of the movie were able to secure screening in Toronto by making some arrangement after the Canadian distributor refuse to release the movie in Canada.

Similarly, the there were no screening of the movie in Melbourne and Sydney in Australia. The screening of the movie had triggered massive protests in Delhi.
