Aamir Khan’s PK movie wreathe another controversy;Hindu body moves police complaint

New Delhi 23 DEC 2014 : Aamir Khan’s recent release ‘PK’ seems to be caught in to controversy as various Hindu organizations are opposing the movie saying that it offends their sentiments and shows Hindu gods in ‘bad-light’. Pro-Hindutva bodies are particularly angry over ‘PK’ movie and posters are out over internet and social media targeting ‘PK’ for being anti-Hindu.

Recently release ‘PK’ is getting massive response from viewers across the world and movie reviews are recommending it as a ‘must watch’ movie. Indian cricket star Sachin Tendulkar had also recommended ‘PK’ after watching controversial movie’s premier few days back.

Hindu body moves police complaint

Hindu Legal Cell Delhi secretary Prashan Patel has moved a police complaint against PK director Raj Kumar Hirani and actor Amir Khan.

In a complaint moved before SHO, Thana Amar Colony (New Delhi) Prashant Patel said that the film ‘PK’ has disrespected Hindu god Shiv. Prashant Patel maintained that the movie PK hurts sentiments of Hindus.

Prashant Patel, in his complaint, said: ‘The dialogue of this film are like “Jo darta hai vo mandir jata hai’. Lord Shiv is shown chased by Amir Khan and in bad character. It hurts believers of Hinduism very much.

“The intention of this film is to show disrespect about hindu gods, temples and which may cause religious disharmony. Therefore I request you to please charge him with provoking communal disharmony and create an atmosphere which is harmful for peace of society” Prashant Patel said it his police complaint.

Hindu Legal Cell secretary in his complaint demanded legal action against Aamir Khan and Raj Kumar Hirani under section 153A and 295A of Indina Penal code.

Prashant Patel informed that he has also written a letter to Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). On being asked that if he want the Indian government to take some steps in this matter, he said that the matter was not raise with the government as the CBFC has already passed the film.

He informed that the matter was being investigated by the police. He said that if the police failed to take action in this case then the Hindu Legal Cell will move to the court.

An overview of activity over social media shows that hashtags ‘#boycottPK’ and ‘#WeSupportPK’ are trending on Twitter and Facebook. As soon as hashtag ‘#boycottPK’ started to trend on twitter, the supports of Amir Khan and ‘PK’ movie marked their presence by making ‘#WeSupportPK’ trending on Twitter.
